Immersive reader can be used to support language learning and is available in some of the most popular Office 365 tools, including Word Online, Outlook, OneNote and Teams. Whilst this post focuses on the tool for language learning, Immersive reader offers solutions which can benefit many students, including students with learning differences such as dyslexia, students developing academic English language skills.
This video gives a very brief (96 seconds!) overview of the Immersive Reader which uses multiple strategies to support reading and aid developing language skills.
Parts of Speech – Supports writing instruction and grammar comprehension by identifying verbs, nouns and adjectives.
Dictionary and translation tools make it easy to check the meaning of individual words using visuals, and audio in many languages.
